Each morning at West, we begin our day by coming together as a school community to recite both the Pledge of Allegiance and our West School Pledge. This daily routine helps set a positive tone and reminds our students of the values we share.

After the Pledge of Allegiance, our students proudly recite:

I’m proud to be a STAR at West.
I always try to do my best!
I promise to obey the rules,
In my class and in my school.
I pledge today to do my best,
In reading, math, and all the rest!
My character is strong and true,
I respect myself and others, too!
I’m responsible as I can be,
Each choice I make belongs to me.
I show compassion every day,
Kind words are all I have to say.
I’m proud to be a STAR at West—
My education is the BEST!

By reciting these words each day, our students are reminded to take pride in their school, make responsible choices, show kindness, and strive for excellence in all they do. This shared tradition strengthens our school culture and helps guide our students to be respectful, responsible, and compassionate members of the West community.
